Another way of putting it would be: always use muscle power, seldom used industrial power. Use the stairs, forgoe the escalator. Walk, don’t drive. Cook with your hands, don’t eat something a machine made. Help your friends to move house — don’t have them employ a company with machines. And when you do this, you discover: it is not inefficient — it’s much more efficient!

You don’t spend hours every week to afford your car/your ready made meals/your fitness studio/your yoga retreat. You live a sensitible life in tune with your physical surroundings, and you save a lot of money, and that is actually highly efficient.
