…and now for the part you may have been dreading. My own check-list of sleep helps, in the unlikely case your husband doesn’t know them.
Has he tried low-dosage melatonin, taken sublingual, i.e. under the tongue? It doesn’t help me in the early morning hours, but it sure lets the first sleep cycle begin quicker.
A glass of red beet juice often lowers blood pressure, as it is a vasodilator. Improves my sleep quality.
You don’t mention physical activity. Some folks just need to be exhausted in order to get rest, although they might not know it. Righteous sleep comes most often after a hard day’s labor.
You mention meditation; is he aware of the simple Chinese sleep inducer? It’s weird… tension your anal sphincter, inhale slowly, relax sphincter and exhale softly; repeat 100 times. Or 200 times.
How about possibly unnecessary anxiety inducers? Many people don’t like to admit they are terrified of driving. Walking or taking a train is always better.
